CATnip Friday 5k & Mouse Miler

Benefit Run/Walk for the Cat Adoption Team

Friday, August 13, 2010

There are 156 days and 22 hours until the CATnip Friday 5k. Have you registered yet?

What is the Mouse Miler?

The Mouse Miler is a fast street mile designed to let runners really kick it out and burn. It will take place after the runners come in from the 5k and will proceed along a slightly different course than the 5k.

So with one registration I can run both the 5k and the Mile?

Yes! You may choose to run the 5k, the mile, or both races! If you choose to run both, in your packet will be two identical bib numbers: one for the 5k and one for the mile. If you are running both races, after the 5k you will need to remove your 5k bib and pin-on your mile bib.

Why the name CATnip?

Why the name “CATnip Friday”?

One of the CATnip Friday committee members explains:  “Well, at my house, we love Fridays. For me, it means the end of the work week and looking forward to a night off. I usually do my long runs on Saturdays, so it’s sort of the calm before the storm of the weekend hits.

“Also at my house, we have three cats. They don’t quite put in 40 hours a week, but Friday is Friday, so to give them something to look forward to - Catnip Friday.

“When the Cat Adoption Team came up with the idea of a fundraiser race, we wanted to pick a date when we wouldn’t have any competition from other races and could put on a really fun, fast event. We settled on a Friday night race, and what better name to celebrate a Friday night race, the Cat Adoption Team, and running than the CATnip Friday 5k?”
